Travel with the European Health Insurance Card – order yours at the travel fair
Do you have a European Health Insurance Card yet? With the card, you can receive treatment in EU and EEA countries and Switzerland if you, for example, suddenly fall ill during a holiday trip. During the Matka Nordic Travel Fair 2020, you can order the free of charge card at our fair stand. You can also order the card through Kela’s e-Services or by phone on Kela’s customer service number.
EU-healthcare.fi website presenting at the fair
Would you like to travel outside Finland for treatment? What if you should fall ill on holiday? Are you enjoying retirement abroad or perhaps thinking of doing a student exchange or going to work abroad? These and many other questions on international matters are answered on the EU-healthcare.fi website.
“The EU-healthcare.fi website is intended as help for everyone who needs treatment outside Finnish borders for whatever reason,” says planner Pia Blomqvist from the Contact Point for Cross-Border Healthcare. “It is a good idea to check our website to see what you should consider when going on a trip or moving abroad. Useful information for travellers is provided in the descriptions of the health care systems of over 50 countries.”
The EU-healthcare.fi website operated formerly under the name Choosehealthcare.fi. In addition to the name, the contents and structure of the site have also been revamped. In her blog, Pia Blomqvist reveals how the new name came about with the help of our customers and partners (in Finnish).
